WiFi has been using LDPC codes for the error correction for many years. And now 5G new radio has adopted them for cellular communication as well. But the LDPC code that's being used in 5G is very different to the one that was used in WiFi, because 5G LDPC code is actually a combination of two types of code.

It has an LDPC part but also an LDGM part, and that architecture is very different to the pure LDPC code that was used in WiFi. And it creates some very interesting implementation challenges.
AccelerComm has designed an LDPC decoder for 5G specifically. It's LDPC decoder takes into account the very specific architecture of the 5G LDPC code. And we consider it, not only at the algorithmic level, but also the hardware implementation level.
By redesigning all of these things, jointly and from scratch we have a solution which is really tuned to the particular requirements of 5G new radio.
We have produced data briefs that characterize the performance of the decoder across a wide variety of different scenarios.
