AccelerComm is an exciting semiconductor IP company that provides game-changing hardware acceleration for mobile communications. We are making key contributions to the specification of global standards for 5G and we are developing, patenting and productising IP solutions for the standards, while they are still being written. We are building value in the company by growing our portfolio of patents, first-to-market IP solutions and expertise. To support this activity, we are currently recruiting a Senior IC Design Engineer, among other roles.
About the Role
We are looking for a very capable, enthusiastic and personable individual to join our team. The role calls for a highly motivated and dynamic Senior IC Design Engineer to contribute to the development and enhancing of our product portfolio, as well as to support customer developments using AccelerComm IP. With experience of the electronics and semiconductor industry, the successful candidate will support our customer base worldwide. This is a key role, which will play an important part in the growth of AccelerComm.
Our Location
The development of AccelerComm IP is performed in Southampton and much of the customer support aspects of the role can be conducted from there, although the role will involve some travel to customers in Europe, North America and Asia.
Responsibilities to include
- Collaborate with colleagues on the design, development, verification and documentation of our IP
- Lead on the optimisation, synthesis and characterisation of ASIC solutions
- Support customers in the validation, synthesis, layout and integration of ASIC solutions
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Degree qualified (or equivalent)
- HDL programming (e.g. SystemVerilog or VHDL)
- Software programming (e.g. Matlab, C, SystemC)
- Optimisation, synthesis, characterisation, validation, layout and integration of ASIC solutions (at 28 nm or below)
- EDA tools and process libraries
- Minimum 5 years of experience in relevant field in the industry
- Adept at providing technical support, working with customers during the integration phase of their projects
Preferred
- Customer facing, with experience in delivering IP (or IP-vendor facing, with experience in receiving IP)
- Knowledge of signal processing hardware acceleration (ideally error correction or another baseband component)
- Good appreciation of telecoms / mobile communications systems
- Solid understanding of the semiconductor industry
